SAN DIEGO, CA, Jun 05, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --Overland Storage (NASDAQ: OVRL), the trusted global provider of effortless data management and data protection solutions across the data lifecycle, today announced that the SnapServer DX Series has been named a finalist for the 2012 American Business Awards in the Best New Storage Product of the Year category. More than 3,000 nominations from organizations of all sizes and every industry were submitted for consideration in a wide range of categories in this premier business awards program. Winners will be announced on September 17, 2012 in San Francisco, CA.

The SnapServer DX Series is Overland Storage's newest unified NAS and iSCSI SAN device that leverages the company's innovative RAID technology, DynamicRAID, to eliminate the need to provision storage capacity. Key performance capabilities include expansion scaling up to 288TB and a range of integrated enterprise features including snapshots, replication, remote management and more. The SnapServer DX Series enables storage environments to scale without downtime while ensuring continuous data protection, allowing any size business to run its storage like an enterprise at one-tenth the cost. It was also recently named Hardware Product of the Year for the 2012 Network Computing Awards.

"We're honored that the SnapServer DX Series has been named a finalist in the Best New Storage Product of the Year category," said Jeremy Zuber, product marketing manager at Overland Storage. "This NAS solution was built with enterprise quality features and functionality, but at a fraction of the price. Furthermore, the SnapServer DX Series offers the best features and price of any NAS solution in its class, enabling companies to focus their limited time and resources on their business instead of data storage and management."
