LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 13, 2011-- Overland Storage (NASDAQ: OVRL), the trusted global provider of effortless data management and data protection solutions across the data lifecycle, today announced that one of its UK customers, the University of Sheffield, has won ‘Storage Project of the Year’ at the Storage Virtualisation Cloud (SVC) 2011 Awards.

The University of Sheffield won the award for implementing two Overland SnapServers and four SnapServer Expansion units to manage and protect 104TB of research data created by its Genetic Research department. The SVC awards, which were announced at a gala evening event in London on the 7^th December, reward the products, projects and services as well as honour companies and teams operating in the cloud, virtualisation and storage fields. Organised by Angel Publishing, they recognise the achievements of end-users, channel partners and vendors.
